A digital still camera is an optical device used to capture and store images and videos in digital format. Various types of digital still cameras are built-in lens cameras such as point-and-shoot cameras and interchangeable lens cameras such as digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) and mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera (MILC). A DSLR camera works on a unique reflex design scheme that combines optics with the mechanism of a single-lens reflex (SLR) camera with a digital imaging sensor.
